We’re Falling for Handbags
Calling all bag lovers! The fall handbag styles are here and we’re seeing the return of some of our favorite trends, along with new shaped styles, and lots of interesting textures and colorful prints. It’s all about function over form while remaining stylish.
We decided to forgo luxury bags for this list as we all tend to keep those for years and years. Instead we showcase more current silhouettes you can find in mainstream stores. The six big trends we’re falling for:
Shoulder bags with flourishes
Fluffy bags with fuzz, fur and feathers
Oversized soft hobo totes
Textures like raffia and embroidery
Bright colors, Bold patterns
Chunky chains
Half-moon shaped bags, both big and small.
Our stylists found 3 different bags that incorporate not one, but two of the seasons’ trends. Think of it as getting more for your money. (You’re welcome.)
Fuzzy, Fur & Feather
We can’t help but fall for shearling that’s not just inside our slippers. Fluffy faux sherpa lines the outside of this bag with a strip of soft lambskin leather. It’s also roomy enough to fit your daily must-carries (reusable water bottle, tablet, umbrella). This tote hits both the fuzzy and bright color trend.
Crescent shaped shoulder
While the mini bag was a fun accessory for summer, lets’ be real, it’s not practical! Enter Fall’s half moon silhouette that’s pretty and easily carried on your shoulder. We love its craze-inducing crescent shape and all the color options. If you want to hit two trends, get a shoulder bag in green, the color of the season.
Hobo Bag meets Chains
A few years ago, handbags with delicate hardware had its moment. Now, it’s chunky chains like this braided leather shoulder bag in the form of a whipstitched chain trim in gleaming metallic. This bag does it all by combining 3 trends we’re seeing this Fall & Winter: the unstuctured hobo shoulder bag; chain embellishments; and bright colors. Hat-trick.
