Tips on Wearing Tights For The Fall and Winter
We know winter isn't the easiest season for dressing. One look we love to fall back on is dresses with tights and boots. A simple combination that makes for an easy transition to warmer-weather. They also add a subtly sexy touch and of course, a bit more warmth.
There are a few things you might want to consider when shopping for your tight:
Size
It is important to think about size, when shopping for a pair of tights. Consult a company’s size chart before purchasing. If you find yourself to be in-between sizes always opt for the bigger size.
Opacity
The opacity of your tights depends on the denier (DEN). The difference is mostly in the “look” of the tights. The higher the DEN, the thicker and more opaque the tights will be. You won’t be able to see your skin tone through the fabric. While the lower the DEN the more sheer and fragile they are. Usually, you can see your skin tone through these tights, and air can easily pass through them.
Depending on the season, you may choose a tight that is sheer or opaque. Knowing the difference will help you shop smarter!
Care
Tights are a delicate wardrobe staple and should be taken care of properly if you want them to last. Hand-washing tights is highly recommended. Avoid putting on your tights when wearing jewelry like rings or dangle necklaces, which could snag the fabric during application.
